This beautiful whitewashed brick home had so much going for it: privacy, beautiful views, and a generous lawn where the kids could play. But the surrounding gardens had become tired and unfocused, and an awkward patio and shed were left behind where an outbuilding had once stood.

We saw an opportunity to re-imagine the space from the ground up. We replaced the old patio with a generous blue-stone patio, using more intuitive lines to create distinct areas for dining, lounging, and entertaining. A beautiful new greenhouse now anchors the garden, surrounded by custom raised brick planters. While updated plantings bring renewed structure and seasonal interest—with plenty of rhododendrons and azaleas, a particular client favorite.

We also made the most of the garden’s overlooked spaces, adding custom cushion storage and a raised cutting garden where an awkward corner once sat unused. A bare, sloped area was transformed with charming evergreen ground covers, turning a difficult spot into a lush and cohesive part of the garden.

The result is a garden that feels as beautiful as it is functional, with spaces designed for family life, entertaining, gardening, and simply enjoying the view.
